In Southern California the arrival of Tropical Storm Hilary has created a potentially life-threatening situation. A storm surge warning indicates the risk of life-threatening inundation from rising water moving inland from the coastline.
The magnitude 5.0 earthquake near Ojai (Sunday at 1441hrs) was an equally unwelcome visitor at this time!

What does this storm mean for Southern California’s marine life?
